Who Am I?

Well, here I am starting my fourth blog. Do I need another introduction?

I am a mother, have been a wife, I am a widow and a cancer survivor. One of those wasn’t true when I started blogging.

I have worked as a lunchtime supervisor in a school, answered directory enquiries for BT and I can work a whippy ice cream machine, after spending one summer working in an ice cream parlour.

I have been called bossy, kind, a good listener and was once told I have “tree trunk legs.” I’m not sure I can ever really let that comment go; I am a work in progress.

All the above is true but these lists don’t encompass who I really am. They show little of my personality. And however much I change my hair colour or start yet another new blog, my personality is actually pretty constant.

There are plenty of online quizzes you can take, Enneagrams or Myers Briggs being the most recognised.  I think I come out as ENFP and a 4, which I know will mean a lot to some people and make little sense to others.

A few years back there was a plethora of online tests: which Friends character are you most like (Phoebe – no contest) which Jane Austen character are you (Marianne – probably).

For research I have just Googled online quizzes and have completed a quiz called “are your addicted to your mobile phone?” – my score 45%

You are phone savvy! You're well-versed in all things smartphone and probably know the best apps and hacks. While your phone is a significant part of your life, you still manage to strike a healthy balance. People often come to you for tech advice, and you're proud of your digital expertise. Keep rocking it!

Youngest son might disagree; he gave me a book called “101 things to do instead of playing on your phone” last time he visited. Maybe this is a topic I should explore in another blog post on another day…

I do have the kind of personality which is easily distracted.

A few years back I bought a set of cards for an after Christmas dinner game. These were not standard playing cards, or even a set of trivia questions. They were a personality test based on the Mr Men and Little Miss characters.

The idea being someone (usually me, ok ALWAYS me) reads out the cards in the pack and whoever identifies with the statement keeps the card. Each card it surrounded by a colour and each colour represents a character. Whichever colour you have the most of determines your personality.

I’ve pulled out a few at random, see if you can figure out who I am most like…

Would be a fantastic TV presenter, posts regularly on social media, likes being controversial, likes to know what her friends are up to, has an infectious laugh, would make a great radio DJ, is very photogenic (only added this in because, well have you seen my photos on this blog – Jason is a genius and I look AMAZING - Windswept and Wonderful), stops anyone else getting a word in edgeways, is a natural storyteller, would keep getting shushed in a library and always sees the silver lining.

Your choices are, Little Miss Naughty, Mr Nosey, Little Miss Sunshine, Mr Grumpy, Little Miss Chatterbox or Mr Perfect.

I’m sure you don’t really need me to tell you…

I’m just disappointed Mr Daydream wasn’t in the mix as he was always my favourite before the Little Miss came along.
